  • 1st January, 2012: The Chronicles Of Soul; NYE @ BIDDS

Spat by Soulgirl at 4:14 pm | Comment here! Comments (2)

No struggle!Once Upon A Time there were two old ladies. From the Deep South, and with an unfair Southern Softie tag, they were often found to board the magical soul-mobile trekking Northward in search of the Karma Sutra of all things Soulful, naughty and nice.

Twas the Eve of a New Year and my 47th Birthday. Bidds-bound, both Lindsay and I boarded the Red-rocket in order to travel along the veins of the United Kingdom to the prize most precious.

We stopped en-route as we both desperately needed to empty our bladders… ominously, the advert on the back of my loo door exclaimed that I need not be ruled by toilet stops and should seek medical intervention. Ironic!

Getting back to the car I had a bit of a coughing fit and worried I may well loose a little more than the contents of my lungs I reach back for the baby-wipes to attend to any possible leaks. Alas, the dawning of old age has arrived.

A man came trotting up to the car, beckoning me to wind down the window.  If he only knew what had gone on moments before!  He blathered on about not normally doing this kind of thing to which I interjected that Lindsay and I were mass murderers and he should continue his speech with that in mind… he only went and asked for my telephone number! :w00t:

Suitably flattered our journey continued farther North arriving at Ground Zero at approximately 10pm.

Bidds is not for the soul-tourist; it’s hardcore…  full of like-minded seekers of subservience to the almighty music we travel hundreds of mile to hear, dance to, sing along with and disclose in our secret diaries of life to be plucked out randomly during bouts of private, warming, reminiscence.

Memories such as Andy Dyson’s gifting of Tenna Lady money-off coupons, the theft and foiled sale of a small piece of its famous floor, the ‘Magic Pebbles of Narnia’ toilets and the amazing suspended ‘heater of despair’ in the men’s rest-room. Fond, smile-inducing, memories that’ll be treasured until I’m tipped into the ground and beyond.

The surreal conversations were not long in arriving either. Subjects such as multiple-orgasms (not me, I’m barren and on the shelf), boobs, cocks, soul-terrorism, longings, loathings, Adams calloused wanking hand and a massive splattering of comedy from the resident fools of fickle folly.  I even managed a comforting snuggle in Vicky’s breasts

As it was my Birthday, Lindsay had bestowed upon me a rather special gift. My very own Space Hopper! It wasn’t long before I’d employed the muscular thighs of those men present to blow it up for me with the foot pump. In no time at all we were all bouncing around the place like carefree children. I was ambushed at one point and bundled by a gaggle of men vying for their own portion of excitement – I did not resist and laid there hoping for a personal epiphany of some sort

I could not think of a better way to spend NYE and chortled at those that would be spending this evening in boring company void of any ridiculous memorable tomfoolery.

Mandy in her kiddy size 8 Wellington boots worn like a ballet dancer on pointe was one of those memories I’ll cherish for years to come.

Later in the evening we even experience an earthquake come soul-tsunami that saw parts of the floor lift and buckle in the heat of the celebrations. Poor Ant tirelessly applied first aid with some urgency that included spent Cornflake packets and gaffer tape. I was going to suggest setting up a trestle table and production line of bog roll papier mache making, but there was too little time.

Many good friends were remembered due to their absence – there’s been a nasty cold doing the rounds since Radcliffe and many had fallen foul of the spoils of illness amongst many other reasons too I guess.  Although the room wasn’t heaving we all had a great time.

Musically we were not failed by any of the DJs – thank you

Cometh the hour of departure I donned my fur coat and hat and pretended to be Sophie Lauren as I swished around for farewell hugs and kisses bestowing wishes of a brilliant 2012 to some of the best friends I’ve made across the 15 years I’ve enjoyed in their company.  The bestest years of my entire life!  Such a rich tapestry of individuals interwoven with the best music in the whole wide world.  What a partnership.

So, without further ado, here’s to yet another year sewing new stitches to our tapestry with richer colours, sounds and memories.

Don’t be homesick; it’s not that great Phil. In fact, I’m really quite bored with it all lol
