Cor blimey… fucking nora… lordy lordy! What a brilliant day/night! Guess what? I didn’t drive to London… I got a train! YES! A train :D
My besty, Lindsay, kindly dropped me at the train station and I boarded the Waterloo bound carriages at 1.07pm. By 3.30pm I’d plonked my face on and got down to some must listen to soul on my ipod. Had a beer and a sandwich too.
Pete French met me off the train and we hit a small cafe outside Waterloo and shared a nice bottle of wine and chit-chatted for an hour or so. A quick (and mahoosively expensive taxi ride to the hotel he was staying in where we got changed and headed out into the bright lights of Oxford Street in search of the Blue Posts pub. Everyone else was meeting there before descending the famous staircase into the bowels of the 100 Club.
There was already a lot of patrons gathered outside the Blue Posts including Benjie! Blimey, all the way from Germany for the night! It was lovely to catch up with him not having seen him for quite some time. There were quite a number of overseas guests last night including the beautiful Virginie.
Dolly arrived around 8pm. She’d walked all the way from Bury! And her shoes weren’t even scuffed. She didn’t really, she got a train :D
She phoned me later in the evening to say although she was 4 hours early for her train home, she still missed it :D
Anyway, the night went like this…. dance, laugh, dance, dance, dance, drink, pee, smoke, dance, laugh, take photos. You get the gist. And by the way, the floor has not been renewed… it’s just been re-varnished so for those that feel the potholes and ridges are like old friends… they’re still fucking there LOL.
All the DJ’s were excellent. Mick Smith played the Appointments for me and Keith Money did the Exits – Another Sundown In Watts and Harvey Averne, never learned to dance. Of course loads of others that I can’t remember but all of them did a grand job for such a grand occasion. As I sit here my feet are throbbing!
Thought about going on cock patrol but talent spotting would have taken far too long keeping me off the dance-floor so I shelved that idea straight away. Besides, we were having too much fun pretending to be Elvis and, just for Karen Crane, a fair few Bruce Forsyth impressions as well. See Karen, we did think of you and missed you.
So many people there I know. Far too many to mention them all but some of those that made my night so great were Dolly (you mad woman) Denise, Toby, Bearsy, Marie, Kylee, Kenny, Ian Simms, Mick H, Ian McMannus and Mandy (god you make me laugh!), Pete Hullat, Keith Money, Pete French, Eddie Hubbard, Fiona, Alfie and Chilli… it was like one massive family. Fiona very kindly gave me a lift home to save me waiting for the train so Chilli and Alfie were sat in the back of the car behaving like little boys LOL. They’re so funny :D
Met a guy for whom I have just created a website for… he kindly gave me two CD’s and both his Anniversary records as payment not forgetting two pints of larger. Nice…. EBAY! lol (if anyone would like to buy one of my 3 Anniversary singles please email me. £80 each or they go to auction)
Big mahoosive thank you to Keith Money who bestowed upon me two CD’s he’d put together. I’ll tell you what, that made my fucking night. I was absolutely made up! THANK YOU! He’s allowed me to put them on my website so give me a day or two and I’ll chuck them up :)
And a gracious thank you to the peeps that complimented my dancing – it was lovely of you to say :)
So, my mouth, yet again, is as dry as a menopausal vagina. I’m sat here in a bit of a daze and I do believe I saw Butch smile!
Ady Croasdell, top man! Well done for promoting such a long standing soul venue – 30 years! You should be very proud of yourself and we, all your patrons (I’m sure I speak for everyone), are very grateful indeed.
I’m off to shower now and get some zeds!

No wonder I was as dry as a desert LOL. Bottle of wine and about 4 or 5 pints of larger! It’s lucky I’m a professional! LOL.
Glad you enjoyed it Steve and sorry you left early. Hope Sue enjoyed it too! I was still dancing at 6am :-D
I’ve not been to bed yet. Just showered and now I’ve woken myself up :-P
